Pennsylvania, Ohio exhibitors win at KILE beef competitions

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Ohio and Pennsylvania exhibitors took home several awards from the 2001 Keystone International Livestock Exposition beef cattle shows.

Hereford. The reserve grand champion Hereford heifer was UF Princess Ariel K 16, owned by Underwood Farms, Wooster, Ohio.

Winning grand champion yearling bull honors was NS Keno 005, owned by NS Polled Herefords, Mason, Ohio. The bull was also named grand champion Hereford bull.

Stockdale Farms, Dayton, PA, received reserve grand champion yearling bull with CS Maximums 41K.

Grand champion senior bull was awarded to Don L. Hennon of Mercer, Pa., exhibiting BHF Special Agent.

Highland. Highland cattle were shown for the first time at this year’s event. At the completion of the show, John and Judith Ligo of Grove City, Pa., were named the premier exhibitor and premier breeder.

Shorthorn. Representatives from the Shorthorn breed were on display in the 2001 P.A.C.E. Shorthorn show at the event.

Winning the reserve calf champion rosette was MSF TLC Andell 037, owned by Dakon Moore of Hookstown, Pa.

Rodeo Stuff, owned by Nathan Tice from Lebanon, Pa., was named junior champion female and reserve grand champion female.

In the bull classes, the junior bull calf champion was Armstrong Hi Roller 1AO, owned by Armstrong Farms, Saxonburg, Pa. Armstrong Farms had the winning junior champion bull with Armstrong Big League. The bull was also named grand champion bull.

Masonic Homes of Elizabethtown, Pa., took home the reserve junior bull calf champion with SS Forecast 135 ET. The overall reserve champion bull title also went to Masonic Homes for MH Powerstroke ET.

The premier exhibitor award went to Armstrong Farms.

Limousin. In the Limousin “Medal of Excellence” show, Maple Lane Farm from Enon Valley, Pa., took division reserve champion honors with Nico Kiss This.

Maple Lane’s Nico Polled High Society was selected as division champion.

Robert Casto of C&M Limousin received reserve champion division honors with KSLC Guardian Angel 174.

Sterling Cattle of Enon Valley, Pa., took home the reserve grand champion banner and division honors with LMAS Muna 012K.

After fierce competition in the bull classes, the Mosher Family of Telford, Pa., took home division bull champion honors with Lanape Dynamo.

C&M Limousin also took home division bull champion honors with Look CM Nuff-Said 129K. This bull was also name overall grand champion.

James Robison’s JRRC Harvest Olympus 03 from Oley, Pa., was also a division reserve champion bull winner.
