BETHLEHEM, Pa. – If you own an old house or historic building, a two-day event at the Ice House on Sand Island near Bethlehem, Pa., will bring the experts to you.

The Old House Road Show is open May 3 from noon to 5 p.m. and May 4 from 8:30 a.m to 5 p.m.

The event will feature experts on repairing slate roof shingles, reconstructing porch columns, restoring plaster walls, or rebuilding boxed gutters. You can get advice about old house projects or old house problems from registered architects, master carpenters, roofers, plasterers, masons, house painters, landscape architects, architectural historians, mechanics and tradesmen and other specialists in old houses.

Demonstrations on repairs to windows and doors, or the art of stenciling will also be conducted.

Visitors can also learn how to research the history of your house, where to find hard to find architectural features and replacement parts or how to preserve family photographs, documents, and paper heirlooms.

Admission is $5; for information contact Michel Lefevre, Old House Road Show coordinator, 717-787-0771 or mlefevre@state.pa.us.
