HANOVERTON, Ohio — The Hicks & Hayseeds 4-H Club will have a road trip themed auction basket on display in the junior fair building during the Columbiana County Fair.

The basket contains over $1,300 worth of items including park hopper passes to Disney, Dollywood tickets, two nights at Red Roof, passes for Niagara Falls attractions, zoo tickets, Hall of Fame tickets and various gift cards for restaurants and Sheetz.

The basket will be up for silent auction bidding until Aug. 3, then it will go to a live auction after the steer sale with the last silent auction bid as the starting live auction bid.

CANFIELD, Ohio — The Mahoning County Junior Fair Board is working to get the junior fair area ready for the Canfield Fair. Work days at the fairgrounds will be Aug. 7, 11 and 17.

At the July meeting the following upcoming events were noted: Junior Fair Board pre-fair work days, trips to visit other county fairs, and helping with the saddle horse skillathon.

Members discussed new possibilities for the well known Round-Up Newspaper, distributed during fair. Three Junior Fair Board members will write it during the fair: Sam Colonna, Callia Barwick, and Alexis Biscella.

The Junior Fair Board will meet again Aug. 17 at the Junior Fair Restaurant at 6 p.m.
