See Civil War history first hand at Century Village, May 24 and 25

BURTON, Ohio – The 18th annual Civil War Encampment on the grounds of Century Village, Burton, Ohio, is on May 24 and 25.

Demonstration hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Live history. The Civil War years come to life as Union and Confederate soldiers and civilians demonstrate camp life and stage battles.

Strategic maneuvers will begin during the afternoon hours in the surrounding fields and forest of Century Village.

Sutlers will descend upon the village bringing with them many needed supplies for the soldiers including clothing, footwear and other indispensable mercantile items.

Scavenger hunt. Adults and children can participate in an old time scavenger hunt.

Civil War enthusiasts are encouraged to interview Abraham Lincoln, and the re-enactors in pursuit of the game.

Century Village is located at the intersection of state Routes 168 and 87 in Burton, Ohio.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 6-12 and children under 6 are free.
