Small wind energy showcased at Munnell Run Farm

MERCER, Pa. — The Mercer County Conservation District and the Munnell Run Farm Foundation Inc. will co-host another information session on small wind energy at 6 p.m. May 7 at the Munnell Run Farm Education Building.

This is a repeat session of the information presented March 19. The event is being held to acquaint the community with the Munnell Run Farm Wind Energy Project.

Participants will learn about the equipment, how it was assembled, how it operates and general pricing. The session will also provide an overview of the efficiency of the technology in our area, environmental benefits, site considerations and the cost-effectiveness of local wind energy.

Tour

A tour of the equipment installed at Munnell Run Farm will wrap up the discussion.

Munnell Run Farm is a 163-acre working farm and agriculture and ecology education center located 1 mile north of Mercer, Pa., on Route 58 West. The site demonstrates a number of best management practices that enhance and preserve soil, water and other natural resources.
