Timber tax info. on Oct. 25

CANFIELD, Ohio — The Northeastern Ohio Forestry Association’s Oct. 25 meeting will address the topic of income tax treatment of timber management practices.

Joe Ledford and Kellie Hanas, CPA’s from Hill, Barth & King’s Meadville, Pa. office will provide advice on reporting woodland management income and expenses.

If you have been thinking about selling timber, this meeting will provide an update on the current status of capital gains rates as they relate to timber and what our politicians in Washington plan to do with the capital gains rate in 2011 and beyond.

NEOFA meetings are always open to the public. The meeting will be held at Mill Creek MetroParks Farm off state Route 46, across from the Canfield Fairgrounds.
