Toy tractor auction draws 165 bidders

CARROLLTON, Ohio — Garner Auctioneers, LLC held a dispersal auction New Years Day for the estate of Elmer Burbick of Columbiana County. Burbick was a well-known collector of toy farm tractors. His collection included all but one of the Precision John Deere series, 10 International and 11 Allis-Chalmers, plus almost 450 non precision tractors.

There were 63 bidders registered on Proxibid.com and 102 registered in-house bidders. The high selling tractor was a power shift Big Bud 16v-747 silver anniversary, new in box, factory edition that sold for $300. A John Deere 40 crawler with blade, made in 1954, sold for $225, an Allis-Chalmers D-15 with NI mounted picker, Precision #8, sold for $235 and an Allis Chalmers display case with four tractors (D-14, D-14 one front wheel, D-15 single front wheel and a D-15, 1 0f 1000 1989 set) sold for $340.

Special edition

An Agco pulling tractor, the Silver Bullet unlimited, a five-time national winner, sold for $200, an A-C 440 went for $210, a Precision John Deere 4020 with mounted 237 picker sold for $170, a Precision #7 Ford 5000 sold for $145, a Ford 8000, customized with big rear wheels and narrow front, sold for $200 and a Toy Farmer Oliver 1950-T, silver anniversary, sold for $125.

An Oliver 99 by Franklin Mint sold for $140, a MM diesel A4T-1600 turbo, four-wheel drive, collectors edition went for $180, a MM G-1000 sold for $135, a new-in-box International 6388, two-by-two, sold for $105, an A-C D-21 industrial, series 2, super charged, made by Precision Engineering of Urbana, Ohio, sold for $200, an International 240 with fast hitch, which Burbick had purchased for $35 years ago, sold for $130 and the fast hitch disk sold for $80.
