Two Mapleton FFA’ers earn American degree

ASHLAND, Ohio – The Mapleton FFA chapter held its annual banquet May 23 at Ashland University.

The chapter’s Star Greenhand Award went to Bethany Plice and Rachael Brown. The Star Chapter Award went to Jessica Boliantz and the Star Agribusiness Award went to Brad Burns.

The Dekalb award went to Courtney Ayers.

The chapter recognized Kelly Fugitt and Russ Stolcals, who will be receiving American FFA degrees at the national convention later this year.

Honorary chapter degrees were conferred upon Karen Welch, Craig Wiley, Phoebe Spidel and John Frank.

At the banquet the 2001-2002 officer team took office: Jessica Boliantz, president; Amanda Brandt, treasurer; Trevor Zimmerman, reporter; Kendra Bohland, parliamentarian; Bethany Plice, historian;, Rachael Brown, vice president; Steve Ashton, sentinel; Spencer Meyers, student adviser; and Brandy Cutlip, secretary.
