COLUMBUS — Farm bloggers of all experience levels are invited to a blogging workshop June 22 sponsored by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation.

The workshop will feature panels, breakout sessions and advice from agricultural bloggers in Ohio and from across the nation. The workshop is in Columbus from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is free and open to Farm Bureau members only. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Raising the bar

The workshop will address why people blog, compare various blogging platforms/sites, discuss how to become more engaged in “blogger culture” and examine how to discuss food and agriculture through blogging.

Featured bloggers who will present are Lindsay Bowman, Jeans Boots blog; Jeff Fowle, Common Sense Agriculture blog; Mike Haley, Haley Farms blog; Brenda Hastings, The Dairy Mom blog; Jennifer Keller, Plowing Through Life blog; Jennifer Kiko, Farmgirl Follies blog; and Ray Prock, RayLin Dairy blog.

A lunchtime web session will feature the observations, studies and stories of the three farmers behind the Just Farmers blog, which focuses on “conversations as a way to collectively harness the power of individual people when brought together through community.”
