WARREN, Ohio – The Homebound Service Department of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren has launched a pilot comedy kit program at three adult daycare centers.

The selection of books, videos, audiobooks and old-time radio programs is on the lighter side, according to Steve Svecz, head of Mobile Library Services.

Items included in a typical comedy kit range from Jack Benny radio programs to Bill Cosby books to the musical movie South Pacific.

These outreach collections will be exchanged monthly and will be utilized by activities directors at the locations as part of programming for clients.

The comedy kits will supplement materials already received from the Homebound Service by the day care centers.

“We will try this new service for 10 months, then evaluate its success,” Svecz said. “If all goes as planned, we’ll look for opportunities to branch out with the program.”
