Ways to save on admission at Ohio State Fair

COLUMBUS – The 2002 Ohio State Fair offers ways for fairgoers to enjoy the fair for a reduced price.

Advance sale admission passes are available for $5 at Ticketmaster outlets, Ohio Kroger stores, participating AAA locations and participating Advance Auto Parts stores. The offer will extend through the fair.

The advance sale price for midway ride-all-day wristband vouchers is $12. Vouchers will be available only at Ticketmaster and Ohio Kroger stores through Aug. 1.

Ride-all-day wristbands will be available everyday at the fair for $17. Or, you can purchase single ride coupons for $1 each.

Most kiddie rides require one coupon, super kiddie and spectacular rides require two coupons and super spectacular rides require three coupons.

Discount days. Special discount days are Aug. 2 when admission is $1 and Aug. 4 when there will be free admission for veterans with proper identification.

Until 6 p.m. Aug. 5, adults with children will be admitted for $7 and children 12 and under will be free. With the purchase of a wristband, a second rider can ride free until 6 p.m. with a hand stamp. After 6 p.m., all riders will need a wristband or coupons.

Aug. 6, buy one admission ticket at the gate and get one free with an Ensure or Glucerna product presented at the booth outside entrance gates.

AAA members can show their card Aug. 7 and receive $4 admission for everyone in the family.

Bring in a neck hanger from a two-liter Coke product Aug. 8 and buy one wristband at regular price and get a second for $12.

Domino’s Pizza boxes have coupons that can save $5 on ride-all-day passes Aug. 8. Buy one ride-all-day pass for $17 and get a second for $12.

Family value day is Aug. 12. Adults will be admitted for $7 and kids 12 and under will be admitted free until 6 p.m. With the purchase of one wristband, a second rider can ride free until 6 p.m. with a hand stamp. After 6 p.m. all riders will need either a wristband or a coupon to ride.

Ohio lottery day is Aug. 13. Show a non-winning Ohio lottery ticket at the entrance gate and receive a coupon for $2 off admission. All non-winning tickets will be registered for a second-chance drawing at the end of the day.

Aug. 14 admission is $4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bring specially marked Coca-Cola Classic cans to a booth outside the entrance gate Aug. 18 for a $2 admission.
