Working to improve rural vision

by Other News

Editor:

I am writing in reference to the article on OSU Extension’s visioning program in Noble County (“Visions of future…” Jan. 18, 2001). The Ohio Farmers Union is a general farm organization with a membership of about 7,000, representing family farmers, rural residents and consumers. Our main goal is to advocate public policy that benefits family farmers and rural communities.

We follow three main principles of legislation, education and cooperation. We also have an Ohio Farmers Union Service Corporation to handle insurance plans for members. This is what generates the money to fund the state staff, district representatives and programs offered by the Ohio Farmers Union.

We encourage the continued support of OSU Extension and its visioning program here in Noble County.
