YOUNGSTOWN — Interested in growing produce for sale? Youngstown residents are eligible to participate in the Market Gardener Training Program (MGTP), which will be held at Iron Roots Urban Farm, YNDC’s working farm and training center.

Attend again

Former students are encouraged to participate again – the program has been updated and will be hands-on and production oriented. Classes will be presented by Liberty Merrill, senior program coordinator, and Curtis Moore, Iron Roots farm manager, with guest speakers.

Students who complete the course and are serious about starting an urban enterprise will receive one-on-one technical assistance and class opportunities on an ongoing basis after program graduation.

There is no charge for this course. New participants will be supplied with books. Some carpooling may be required for field trips. Space in this course may be limited.

Deadline

The application can be downloaded at www.yndc.org. Paper copies of the application are available at the YNDC office. This form should be mailed (received, not postmarked) or hand-delivered to the YNDC office at 201 E. Commerce St., Suite 140, Youngstown, OH, 44503, by 5 p.m. March 8.

For more information contact Liberty Merrill, program coordinator, 330-480-0423 or at lmerrill@yndc.org.
