Arthur ‘Art’ N. Royer

SALEM, Ohio — Arthur “Art” N. Royer, 94, Canfield, Ohio, died at 10:10 p.m. Dec. 24, 2010, at the Essex of Salem III.

He was born June 20, 1916, in Alliance the son of the late Elda C. and Florence (Minser) Royer.

He owned the Walnut Ridge Farm, which was a sheep-breeding farm and he raised lambs for 4-H club members.

Mr. Royer retired in 1981 from Standard Slag where he was general office manager in sales for 44 years.

He was a member and a former elder of the Greenford Christian Church, member and past president of the
Berlin-Ellsworth Ruritan Club, a former member of the Western Reserve School Board for 20 years and a member and former director of Northeast Ohio Sheep Improvement Association.

His wife, Beulah B. (Bosler) Royer preceded him in death.

Survivors include three sons, Dr. David B. Royer and Charles A. Royer, both of Canfield, and Theodore J. Royer of Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Esther Miller of Sun City, Ariz.; brother, Elmer Royer of Louisville; three granddaughters; and a grandson.

He was proceeded in death by a brother, Reuben Royer.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 30 at the Greenford Christian Church with Rev. Sean Kelly officiating.

Calling hours will be held Dec. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stark Memorial and Thursday one hour before the services at the church.

Burial will be at the Center Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Louisville, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenford Christian Church, 11767 Lisbon Road, Greenford, Ohio 44422.

Arrangements were handled by the Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
