SALINEVILLE, Ohio — Daniel Clyde Saling Jr., 46, of SR 39, died at 2:20 a.m. June 7 at East Liverpool City Hospital.

Born Feb. 24, 1963, in Salem, he was the son of the late Daniel C. and Helen Rae (Beers) Saling.

An electrician by trade, he taught apprenticeship classes. He was a football coach and behavioral mentor at Southern Local High School where he was also an assistant track coach.

A member of St. George Catholic Church, he was an auctioneer for benefit events for several organizations, and for more than 20 years raised show quality and market hogs.

He was a member of F.O.E. Aerie 2216 in Lisbon, past president of Southern Local Alumni Association, vice president of the Booster Club, a member of the Quad County Coaches Association, was an active promoter of 4-H and a past member of the National Swine Association and Ohio Pork Producers.

Survivors include his wife, the former Nancy Jo Haren, whom he married Oct. 1, 1988; three daughters, Julia Rae, Jennifer Rose and Natalie Jo Saling, all at home; and a sister, Heather Saling of Columbus.

Calling hours were held June 10 at the Weber Funeral Home in Lisbon.

A Mass of Christian burial was to be held at 11 a.m. June 11 at St. George Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Edwards, Celebrant. Burial was to be in St. Paul Cemetery in Dungannon.
