EAST ROCHESTER, Ohio — James S. Bender, 47, of East Rochester, Ohio died Dec. 5 at his home of an apparent heart failure. He was born Sept. 9, 1961 in Kalona, Iowa to Samuel and Irma (Frey) Bender.
He was attending Berea Christian Fellowship in Leetonia, and worked at his home as a poultry farmer. He is survived by his wife Dorothy M. (Sommers) Bender whom he married April 21, 1984, two daughters, Megan and Shana; three sons, Raymond, Ryan and Kevin, all of the home.
He was preceded in death by a son Lyndon Jon Bender. Also surviving are his parents Samuel and Irma Bender of Sarasota, Fla.; a brother, Paul Bender of Iowa; three sisters, Lena of Iowa, Esther (David) Schabach of Sarasota, Fla., and Miriam (Robert) DeYoung of Seaford, Del.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bender family through the Berea Christian Fellowship. Arrangements by the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva.
