MANTUA, Ohio — Ronald Carl Kuchenbecker, 63, died unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio.

Mr. Kuchenbecker was born in Ravenna, Ohio, on Jan. 16, 1952, the son of Virgil A. and Patricia (Hirschman) Kuchenbecker. A lifetime Mantua area resident, he was the third generation owner-operator of Kuchenbecker Dairy Farm.

He served in the Army National Guard of Ohio, where he successfully completed the United States Army Engineer School, being honorably discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States in 1978. He was a member of Portage County Farm Bureau and Western Reserve Tractor Pullers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Susan P. (Ortman) Kuchenbecker, whom he married Sept. 19, 1970. Also surviving are his children Ricky Kuchenbecker and Ronald D. Kuchenbecker, both of Mantua; Carey Maske of Chagrin Falls; and Heidi Russell of Hiram; mother, Patricia Kuchenbecker of Mantua; siblings Dale Kuchenbecker of Ravenna; Cheryl Royer and Jeannine Royer, both of Louisville; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Kuchenbecker.

Calling hours will be Sunday Aug. 30, 2015, from 1-4 p.m. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail, at the corner of state Route 44, Mantua, Ohio. His funeral service will be held there Aug. 31, 2015, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the family farm in Mantua Township, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations in his name be made to the American Diabetes Association.
