MAGNOLIA, Ohio — Drotleff Marketing and Equipment, owned by Jay Drotleff, was started in April 2009 and has one full-time employee and one part-time employee.

The company recently purchased property to establish a new facility.

Drotleff says, “We only sell by educating the producer to the advantages of the product, not by the cost of the product, and being supportive and truthful.”

Services

The company’s services focus heavily on conservation tillage. They offer parts delivery and installation during rush season.

Equipment

They offer Kverneland Tillage Equipment, a full range of tillage equipment primarily focusing on the CTC Machine, which is a one pass, primary to finish tillage machine that has capabilities of working 1 1/2 inches to 13 inches, or anywhere in between for a complete finish ready to plant.

The machine also incorporates residue from top to bottom and also known for high-residue handling abilities.

They also sell Summers Manufacturing which provides Supercoulter Plus, sprayers and rock pickers. Summers pioneered the Supercoulter vertical type machine, originally for spring soil aeration. For fall they offer equipment for high-residue cutting and for winter they offer break down of BT hybrids.

Amazone is a new arrival. They specialize in conservation tillage and planting. The Amazone Catros is an unique vertical till tool that is very different from what the American farmer is familiar with. It also slices and dices BT Hybrids.

Jan Veenhuis, grain and silage dump trailers, which are new to the U.S., are designed to eliminate trucks in the field which has a tendency to deepened compacted soil layers.

The Veenhuis Silage Trailer has few options, but has the capacity of hauling silage from the forage harvester at higher tonnage and less compaction.

Growth

The company plans to grow in the dairy industry areas, providing additional products for the large dairy operations.

Drotleff says, “Undoubtedly, the impact of the eastern section of our retail area will see an increase in business from the gas lease monies producers seeking to improve long overdue operational needs.”

He also says, “In a year from now, we plan on having a full-time sales person on the road which covers Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. We intend to pursue the heavy forage industry more in the near future.”
