SHARON, Pa. — For three generations, Watson’s Inc. has stood on the outskirts of Sharon, Pa., providing quality farm and lawn equipment.

The company began in 1932, when Alan “Woody” Watson opened a small gas and service station. The station made its first change in 1947 when Woody built the current building.

During the construction, the company had a supplemental location, the only time it has changed locations.

The latest construction took place between 2005 and 2006 when an additional building was built.

“We’re very proud to be a family-owned business with one location,” said sales manager Eric Watson.

His father, current owner David Watson, echoed Eric’s statement.

“We try to stay with one location and strive to be the best in the area. We feel it takes too much of the personalization out of the business with multiple locations.”

Watson’s Inc. currently sells 12 product lines, including its newest line, Simplicity Lawn and Garden, which was added two years ago.

The Watson family also sells Simplicity, Krone, Grasshopper, Hagedorn, Miller Pro, H&S Manufacturing Co., Quicke, Farm King, E-Z Trail Inc., UM and Kverneland.

Since 2006, the family has seen an increase in the sales of German agriculture equipment maker Krone, but Watson’s mainstay line is Massey Ferguson — the company has been a Massey dealership since the early 1950s.
