  • Sift:
  • 1 3/4 cups 10x sugar
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • Beat Till Foamy:
  • 1 2/3 cups egg white (12-14 eggs)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • Add:
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • Beat till stiff peaks form, while slowly adding 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar. Gently fold egg whites into sifted flour mixture. Bake approximately 45 minutes at 375°. Invert until completely cool.

  • Icing:
  • 2 pounds 10x sugar
  • 1/4 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Beat until creamy. Add flavorings to taste (vanilla extract and strawberry extract). Top with homemade whole strawberry jam. Decorate with lime peel and fresh strawberries.
