Chewy Popcorn Balls

Ingredients

  • No doubt about it: Popcorn balls are a treat any time of year. Makes 6 popcorn balls.
  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 3 cups mini-marshmallows
  • 1 to 2 drops orange food coloring (optional)
  • 8 cups popped popcorn

Directions

Remember to wash your hands.
Pop corn and measure into large mixing bowl.
In medium-size microwave-safe bowl, combine margarine and marshmallows. Microwave on medium power 2 minutes or until margarine melts and marshmallows are soft. Remove bowl from microwave and stir to combine ingredients. Add a few drops food coloring, if desired.
Pour marshmallow mixture over measured popcorn. Stir to coat popcorn.
Tear off six sheets of wax paper, each about 10×10 inches square. Place 1 cup popcorn mixture in center of a wax paper square. Fold corners of paper up around popcorn and twist at top, pressing popcorn to make ball. Repeat for each square.
Store in airtight container.
