Chocolate Peanut Butter Eggs

  • 1/2 butter
  • 1 lb. powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate chips


Mix butter, powdered sugar, peanut butter and vanilla in large mixing bowl. Form dough-like mixture in small egg-shaped balls. Place balls on big cookie sheet and chill one hour. Melt shortening and milk chocolate chips in microwave until melted. Using toothpicks, dip balls into chocolate mixture covering completely. Place on waxed paper to cool. Decorate with icing, sprinkles, etc. Refrigerate or freeze.
