Date Nut Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/2 shortening
• 1 1/2 brown sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 1/2 s flour
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 sour milk
• 1 dates, chopped
• 1 walnuts, chopped

Directions

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Sift together dry ingredients, and add alternately with sour milk. Add vanilla, chopped dates and nuts. Drop by teaspoonsful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° about 12 minutes.
