Hot Fruit Compote
Ingredients
- 1/4 lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 butter or margarine, melted
- 4 bananas, sliced
- 1 (1 lb.) can dark sweet cherries, undrained
- 1 large orange, sectioned
- sour cream
- brown sugar, sifted
Directions
In saucepan, stir lemon juice, brown sugar, cloves and nutmeg into melted butter; add fruits and heat. Serve hot. Separately pass sour cream and brown sugar to sprinkle on top. Leftovers are good served cold over pound cake or ice cream.
