For each quart of cooked sliced beets, add mixture of:

Ingredients

  • 1 sugar
  • 2 s vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish

Directions

Ingredients

  • 1 can beets, use juice
  • 1/2 sugar
  • 1/2 vinegar

Directions

Heat to just before boiling. Take off heat and pour over beets. Can hard-boil 6 eggs and add to beets for pickled eggs.
