Border Burger
Ingredients
- 3 poundsĀ ground chuck
- 1/2 cup black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1/2 cup frozen corn, thawed
- 3 tablespoons chopped green chilies
- 3 teaspoons adobo seasoning
- 3/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 3/4 teaspoon cumin
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese
- 6 hearty hamburger buns
- 1/2 cup chipotle flavored mayonnaise, or to taste
- 2 avocados, sliced
Directions
Preheat grill. Combine black beans, corn, green chilies, adobo, cumin, chili powder and salt; set aside. Portion ground chuck into 8-ounce patties. Grill to desired doneness. Top each with 2 tablespoons grated cheese and close grill lid to melt cheese slightly. To assemble, spread 1 tablespoon chipotle mayonnaise on each bun and top with burger, 1 1/2 tablespoons bean and corn mixture, and 3 to 4 avocado slices.
