Peanut Butterfingers

Ingredients

  • 1/2 oleo
  • 1/2 sugar
  • 1/2 brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 peanut butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup quick oatmeal
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)
  • Peanut Butter Mixture:
  • 1/2 powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1/4 peanut butter
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons milk

Directions

Cream oleo and sugars; add egg, peanut butter, soda, salt and vanilla. Mix well. Add flour and oatmeal and mix well. Spread on greased 13×9-inch pan. Bake at 350° 20 to 25 minutes, until lightly browned. Sprinkle immediately with 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. Let stand 5 minutes and spread evenly. Drizzle with peanut butter mixture. Cool.

Peanut Butter Mixture: Mix powdered sugar, 1/4 cup peanut butter and milk. Spread on bars and swirl with knife. Cut into strip-sized bars.
