Pumpkin Applesauce Tea Bread, Submitted by Debbie Flinner, of Canton, Ohio

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 1 cup pumpkin
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 2/3 cup oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 3 2/3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup raisins

Directions:

  1. Beat sugar, molasses, pumpkin, applesauce, oil, milk and eggs on medium speed.
  2. Sift in flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  3. Add remaining ingredients; mix well.
  4. Pour into greased 9 by 5-inch loaf pan.
  5. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
  6. Cool 10 minutes in pans.
  7. Wrap in foil and store overnight.
