  • 2 s raisins
  • 2 s water
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 s sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 s flour
  • 1 chopped nuts


Combine raisins, water and soda; bring to boiling. When mixture begins to foam, remove from heat. Cool. Beat together eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla. Add raisins alternately with flour to egg mixture. Fold in nuts. Pour into 2 buttered bread pans. Bake at 350° 1 hour.
