Simple Stuffing



  • 6 cups chicken stock
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 3/4 cup chopped carrots
  • 3/4 cup diced onions
  • 2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 6 cups cubed French bread


Preheat oven to 350°. In medium stock pot combine all ingredients except French bread and boil mixture for 15 minutes. Spread French bread cubes evenly over bottom of roasting pan. Pour stock slowly over French bread and let it sit for 3 minutes. Using spoon, mix stock and bread together. Place in preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
By some standards, it?s called stuffing if it is baked in the turkey, and dressing if it is cooked on the side. If cooking stuffing in a pan and not inside turkey, try stuffing turkey with small apples. It smells wonderful and the apples have a great flavor when you take them out.
