- 1/3 cup wild rice
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 12 oz. pkg. mushrooms, sliced (or use canned
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups half and half
- (Can also add carrots, celery, water chestnuts and more rice.)
Cook rice until tender according to package directions. Melt butter in saucepan and brown onion and mushrooms in it. Blend in flour and half and half, stirring constantly until thick. Slowly stir in chicken broth and add cooked rice.
