Junior beef exhibitors win at Farm Show

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Junior beef exhibitors paraded 192 heifers in eight breeds at the 2010 Pennsylvania Farm Show Jan. 10.

Judge Thomas Turner, a 31-year coach at Ohio State University, judged Angus, Shorthorn, Limousin and Red Angus, totaling 106 head.

Judge Dan Eversole traveled from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., to judge 86 head of Herefords, Simmental, Maine-Anjou and MaineTainers.

Angus:

grand champion female, BCA Scaara New Worth 810, Hannah Grim, York County; reserve champion, Triple Dakota, Ryan Nolt, New Holland, Lancaster County;

Shorthorn:

grand champion female, MH Sweet Vintage 9092 D ET, Emily Benner, Juniata County; Shorthorn reserve champion, LMC Jakes Lilac 902, Lindsey Curtis, Perry County;

Limousin:

grand champion female, NICO Polled Ecstacy, Jocelyn Kelly, Lawrence County; reserve champion, CLLL Sydney, Chelsey Kelly, Lawrence County;

Red Angus:

grand champion female: Hain MS Honey, Sam Bowman,York County; Red Angus reserve champion, MSD Cheyenne, Mason Brehm, Jonestown, Lebanon County;

Hereford:

grand champion female: MH 29R Miss Rock 8181, Walker L. Dunn, Crawford County; reserve champion, C Beyond Platinum, Kelsey Diehl, Adams County;

Simmental:

grand champion female, MF Miss Madonna U17, Caitlin M. Wolfgang, Dauphin County; reserve champion, MF Miss Trademark W645, Caitlin M. Wolfgang, Dauphin County;

Maine-Anjou:

grand champion female, WWF Smokni Girl 251W, Terrill Treaster, Centre County; reserve champion, DGCC Patty, Dylan Giebner, Crawford County;

MaineTainer:
