28 percent of the food served in the dining hall is grown on the school farm, 1,500 feet away. 3,300 panel solar array, geothermal wells heat and cool buildings and a 1,000-acre nature preserve is used as a living laboratory for students and faculty. By 2018, 90 percent of the energy used will come from renewable sources.
