Prayer

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing.

— 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17

Most of us have learned when we work, we work, but when we pray, God works. Prayer is powerful.

When we pray, the divine power of God is released. The power in prayer is God’s power, which is activated by prayer.

“Prayer is not eloquence but earnestness” (Hannah More).

When the bible speaks about prayer being powerful in James 5:16, it means God acts powerfully through the prayers of his people.

Prayer is the key that opens the door to meet our many needs according to God’s holy will. All things are possible with God. Prayer can move mountains. It can mend a broken heart.

He prayeth best who loveth best

All things, both great and small;

For the dear God who loveth us,

He made and loveth all.

What do you pray about most of the time? Often we pray more about health needs and financial needs and overlook spiritual needs. Our spiritual needs are far greater than all other needs for they will determine our eternal destiny.

Satan does not want us to pray about spiritual needs for ourselves or even our family and friends. William Cower said, “Satan trembles when he sees the least of saints upon his knees.”

Don’t give up in your prayer life. God is still able for all our needs.

“If ye abide in me and my words, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and if shall be done unto you” (John 15:7).
