Winter is Over— Think about it!

WINTER IS OVER

I hope I am not saying the wrong thing when I say, “winter is over.” Every year about this time I write about the past winter and I was going to write about it a few weeks ago. However, I had second thoughts because of the weather we have been having and this caused me to wait.

As I look out my window today, however, I think I am finally safe in saying, “winter is over.”

Here in Hartville, Ohio, the trees now have their leaves back and the grass is growing, but so are the weeds. Everything points toward spring. It is a great feeling to see all the snow piles gone and in their place green grass growing and the flowers starting to grow again.

The other day, I took a walk around my property to observe what needed attention following the winter and sure enough as usual old man winter left his marks here and there. I stopped by my garden and spotted a few onions that I had forgotten.

When I was young, I used to hear my father talk about the old-fashioned winters he went through when he was a boy. I personally think this past winter was about as old- fashioned as I choose to have here in Ohio. We had snow, snow and more snow.

Today, is a new day and Mother Nature is once again reminding us of new opportunities to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.

The scripture in Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament showeth His handiwork.” Take time now and look around you and see the beauty of God’s creation.

Take some time out of your busy life and enjoy this beautiful season of the year before it ends. Do not let it slip by without enjoying every part of it.

“He hath made everything beautiful in His time; also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end” Eccl. 3:11.

As beautiful as the day and the seasons may be this world is not our home, we are just passing through. Our eternal home is with Jesus Christ our Savior in heaven.

“In my Father’s house are many mansions if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am ye may be also.” John 14:2-3.

Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine and the beauty of God’s creation.
