WOOSTER, Ohio — On July 18, the Northwestern FFA chapter helped park cars, set up, and clean up at the Twilight Tour held at Ro-La-Sue Dairy in Wooster.

Tara Benton, Zach Berry, Kaleigh Berry, Makenzie Harmon, Shannon Garrison, Adam Miley, Sarhra Flinn, Emily Flinn, Mary Flinn, Kaleb Kliner, Chloe Raff, and members from the Triway FFA chapter helped at this event.

Kierstyn Wood also helped representing the Wayne County Jr. Dairy Princess and as a Northwestern FFA member.

Northwestern members also parked cars and gave safety talks at the Town and Country Answer Plot July 25. This event was held at Rice Farms on Route 250 outside of New Pittsburg.

FFA members from Lucas, Mapleton, Norwayne, Triway, also attended.

Northwestern FFA members who helped at this event were: Rachel Guidetti, Kaci Way, Shania Reed, Emily Flinn, Brittany Bunyak, Faith Hudson, Bradley Aulger, Zach Berry, Shannon Garrison, Chloe Raff, Raelyn Raff, and Becca Harbaugh.

The Answer Plot is used for research about crop production and protection, as well as to test new products for crops on local soils to benefit local farmers. Participants attending this event were given the opportunity to watch demonstrations and see results of the research and trials first-hand.

Safety talks were also given to children by FFA members on different topics.

MILLERSBURG, Ohio — The West Holmes FFA officer team — Mandy Taylor, Atlee Miller, Hannah Schlegel, Shyann Kick, Paige Miller, Clay Armstrong, Grayson Miller and Jason Jenkins — attended the officer retreat July 8-9 at Annies Place Bed and Breakfast.

The West Holmes FFA held its annual Hog Roast July 14. There were more than 50 people in attendance.

Members will participate in kids day at the Holmes County Fair Aug. 7 from noon- 4 p.m. The Holmes County Fair will be held Aug. 5-10. The first FFA meeting will be Aug. 26.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Firelands FFA chapter recently was selected to compete for national recognition in an FFA Career Development Event at October’s 86th National FFA Convention & Expo.

The chapter, from Oberlin, will send members to Louisville, Ky., as they vie for national honors in the area of parliamentary procedure.

FFA members who will represent the chapter in the event include Alison Butler; Christine Balint; Cole Jones; Cole Lewis; Emily Pohorence; and Emma Ranney. The chapter adviser is Shanna Finnegan.
