COLUMBUS — The 85th Ohio FFA Convention is in full bloom at the state fair grounds, thanks to a couple of sunny days and a strong first-day turnout of nearly 3,000.

This year’s theme is “Grow,” and FFA members are learning how to do just that.

The state officer team got the first session started at 2 p.m., which included a motivational speech about leadership from Rhett Laubach.

A host of other motivational speakers are scheduled through Friday, including speeches by retiring state FFA officers. A good mix of FFA talent is also on display, as members participate in the annual talent show.
