BRECKSVILLE, Ohio – The 2001 Lyceum Distinguished Speaker Series will continue at Happy Days Visitor Center in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
Through first-person interpretation, meet three historical women who contributed to the success of the Underground Railroad.
The Underground Railroad was a secret network of people and places that helped fugitive slaves escape to freedom.
The three characters portrayed in this program are Harriet Tubman, an underground railroad conductor, army scout, and African American suffragette; Sojourner Truth, an African American abolitionist and Civil War nurse; and Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
Collectively, these portrayals will weave the feelings, thoughts, and emotions of a dangerous and decisive time in our nation’s history into a riveting, compelling story.
Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 6-12.
Happy Days Visitor Center is located on state Route 303, one-half mile west of Route 8 in Boston Heights.
