HARRISBURG, Pa. — Courtney Cowden, of Prosperity, Washington County, Pa., won grand champion market goat in the junior livestock show Jan. 9 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg.

A longtime FFA member and former 4-H member, Cowden has been showing goats for many years. This is her final year as a junior exhibitor at the Farm Show, and her first time winning grand champion goat.

Other winners

Other winners included brother and sister duo Derek and Samantha Adams, who won reserve champion light heavyweight and reserve champion heavyweight categories, respectively.

The two have been showing goats together for eight years.

Goats in each weight class were evaluated on muscle and thickness, and structural conformation.
