h4>Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup plus 6 tbsp. butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed firm
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt, optional
  • 3 cups Quaker oats
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, beat butter and sugar on medium speed of electric mixer until creamy.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Add combined flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.
  3. Add oats and chocolate chips, mix well.
  4. Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  5. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown.
  6. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets.
  7. Remove to wire rack.
  8. Cool completely.
  9. Store tightly covered.
  10. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
