Hawaiian Chicken Wings

Ingredients:

  • 4 pound whole chicken wings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • Oil for deep-fat frying
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped jalapeno pepper    

Directions:

  1. Cut chicken wings into three sections; discard wing tips.
  2. In a large plastic bag or shallow bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add wings in small batches; toss to coat.
  4. In an electric skillet or deep-fat fryer, heat oil to 350°.
  5. Fry wings, a few at a time, until juices run clear, about 9 minutes.
  6. Drain on paper towels.
  7. In a bowl, combine sugar, soy sauce, garlic, onion and jalapeno.
  8. Dip fried wings in sauce; serve immediately.
  9. Yield: 12-16 servings.
