Ohio FFA’er, Garrit Sproull, wins national swine production award » sproull.looking at sow pens.JPG

Garrit Sproull was excited to move his sows into this lean-to, attached to a new 45-by-60 barn built for his growing farrowing operation in Harrison County. But he won his national FFA swine award with work in a hand-built pig barn so rough Sproull admits, “I have no idea how some of those piglets lived.”

When Garrit Sproull showed his first pig in 4-H, he finished 12th out of 13 in his class. But he’s come a long way. This year, the Harrison Central graduate and current Ohio State University student won the national FFA Swine Production Entrepreneurship award. (Scroll down to see more photos.)«Previous Photo
