Wiggs

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp dry active yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp sugar or molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Whisk the warm milk, yeast, and sugar together, allowing it to sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix in the melted butter, egg, and salt. Gradually fold in the flour until a dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 5 to-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a warm cloth, and let rise for 1.5 hours.
  4. Divide the dough into 6 to-8 portions and shape into flattened buns.
  5. Place on a baking sheet, let rise for another 60 minutes.
  6. Bake at 400°F for 15 to-20 minutes until golden.
  7. Serve with coffee or tea for dipping.
