WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Natalie Miller, a senior at Miami Trace High School and a member of the Miami Trace FFA chapter, was elected to serve on the 2014-2015 Ohio FFA State Officer Team as State Secretary. The State FFA Officer team subsists of six constitutional officers and up to ten district presidents.
Applicants must have scored above 65 percent throughout the interview process to be in the running for a state officer position. Miller and the new officer team began their year of service with training sessions where they met and got to know their other team members, learned about their duties and responsibilities, and planned and set goals for the upcoming year. The Ohio FFA officers spent the summer attending all of the FFA Camp Muskingum sessions.
This coming fall, officers will attend chapter workshops, Greenhand speeches, and organize many fall camps. They will also coordinate and put on the Ohio Legislative Leadership Conference. In October, the officers serve as delegates to the National FFA Convention and the 212/360
Miller’s grandpa served as a state officer in the 1950s.
