40th Annual Ohio Long Rifle Exhibit in Marietta, OH

The Association of Ohio Long Rifle Collectors (AOLRC) will hold their 40th annual exhibit on Saturday, March 28th, 2015 at The Lafayette Hotel in historic Marietta, Ohio.
This exhibit will present to the public approximately 400 of the finest Ohio made muzzle-loading rifles in existence. These rifles exhibited by private collectors, include plain working rifles as well as extremely fancy brass, silver and ivory inlayed rifles that are excellent examples of American folk art.
The main purpose of this exhibit is to provide education to the public about muzzle-loading rifles, their purpose, historical value and the gunsmiths who made them.
We hope to attract visitors who may not otherwise be able to view or obtain information on original Ohio long rifles that they own or that may be family heirlooms. AOLRC Members can often identify rifles that visitors bring to the show, thus establishing age and historical significance to what otherwise would be just an old rifle found in the attic.
This is primarily an exhibit of historic Ohio made long rifles and their accessories for public view; however, a small trading table is provided where members can offer antique arms and accessories for sale or trade.
The AOLRC was formed in 1975 for the study and preservation of Ohio made muzzle-loading rifles. A five volume set of books listing the gunsmiths of Ohio, by County, with biographical information and photographs of their work will be available at the exhibit. In addition, a newly released book is also available in a condensed format.
Please come and take a look at real Ohio History!
Information is also available at: www.aolrc.org

The exhibit is open to the public: 3/28/15 from 9:00am – 4:00pm.
Admission is $5.00 for adults
