Accelerated Genetics and Select Sires jointly buy World Wide Sires

VISALIA, Calif. – Accelerated Genetics, Baraboo, Wis., and Select Sires, Plain City, Ohio, created a 50-50 joint venture to purchase the assets of World-Wide Sires from Bill Clark and his family, of Hanford, Calif.

World Wide Sires Ltd. will operate as a stand-alone company.

Management oversight. The new World Wide Sires will be governed by four officers and a six-person board of directors. The office of president will be shared jointly by Roger Ripley, Accelerated Genetics’ CEO, and Dave Thorbahn, general manager, Select Sires.

Vic Williams, Select Sires controller, will serve as secretary and Bill Cox, vice president of finance, Accelerated Genetics, will be the treasurer.

Charles Shackleford, acting president, Select Sires, Trenton, Ky., and Mike Hahn, chairman of the Accelerated Genetics board, have been named directors, in addition to Cox, Ripley, Thorbahn and Williams.

John Schouten, previously vice president of marketing for World-Wide Sires, now is the organization’s chief executive officer.

The organization will maintain its headquarters in Visalia. Its semen-shipping operations have been relocated to Select Sires in Plain City, Ohio, to streamline the shipping process.
