Conservation tillage conference planned

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – The fifth annual Tri-State Conservation Tillage conference for Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York, will be held Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m at the Radisson Hotel in West Middlesex, Pa.

Topics to be covered will include soil temperature and tillage types; starter and nitrogen fertility management; cover crops and crop rotations; and weed control strategies and the planter pro system. There will also be a commercial trade show.

Keynote speakers for the conference will include Brian Freed, president of AgFocus; David Brandt, Carroll County, Ohio, farmer; and Alan Sundermeier and Ed Lentz from Ohio State University Extension. A local producer panel will share their experiences with no-tilling.

Agricultural producers are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Registration is limited to 300 people. The registration fee of $20 is due by Jan. 21. This fee includes lunch and registration materials.
