NEWBURY, Ohio – The Cross Creek Farm Rug Hooking School will hold a guest day and a hooked rug show May 3 from 1-7 p.m. at the Punderson Manor, Newbury, Ohio.

Visitors may meet the teachers, observe afternoon classes and shop for supplies and gift items at the school store.

Included in the display will be the rugs of Sibyl Osicka of Parma, Jenny Podlasek of Illinois, Betty Krull of South Carolina and Betty Swank of Newbury, all teachers at the rug school. Other rug hooking teachers whose rugs will be displayed will be Harriet Brown of Mansfield, Delores Park of Warren, Eric Sandburg of North Carolina, and area residents Marilyn Shields, Shirley LoCricchio, Candace Barr and Virginia Hildebrant. The rug school participants as well as members of the Geauga County Senior Center rug hooking group and the rug hooking classes of Grace School for Homeschoolers and Artful Hands Studio will have rugs in the show.

A special display will pay tribute to the late Dorothy “Dottie” Wedge, a Chardon resident who was involved in the Western Reserve chapter of the guild of Pearl L. McGowan Hookrafters. About 10 of the approximately 50 rugs she hooked will be displayed.

Visitors planning to eat at Punderson should make reservations at 440-564-9144. For information on the show call Beth Croup at 440-635-0209.
