Video contest open to teams of local high school students

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Pa. — Teams of high school students in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties, in Ohio, and Lawrence and Mercer counties, in Pa., are invited to participate in a regional Student Video Contest sponsored by the Oh-Penn Manufacturing Collaborative.

Students are to prepare a 3 to 5 minute marketing video on a manufacturing in-demand occupation highlighting the career, including job duties, education, skills and training and industry-recognized credentials needed for the position.

Videos will be posted to the Industry Needs You website at www.industryneedsyou.com and a YouTube channel.

Due date

Completed videos will be due by April 8 with online voting to take place from April 14-28. Online voting is open to the public and videos receiving the highest percentage of votes will be reviewed by the judging committee, who will review the videos for quality, substance, presentation and informative content.

Registration is due no later than Jan. 27.

One team with the highest combined score from each of the five Oh-Penn Interstate Region counties will be chosen as a first place winner earning a prize valued at $1,000. One overall winner with the highest combined score from these five will also be chosen earning an additional prize valued at $1,000.

Winners will be announced May 5 via the Industry Needs You website and Social Media. Winning teams will also be notified of an event where they will be recognized and receive their prizes.
