A federal court ruled Dec. 26 that the grey wolf is once again listed as an endangered species, reports Superior Telegram.

The new law affects Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan. Now, landowners cannot hunt or trap gray wolves, nor can they kill gray wolves that harm livestock and pets.

A representative of the Wolves of Douglas County, Wisconsin, stated that farmers and livestock owners can take steps to prevent wolves from entering their property, such as burying dead animal carcasses. However, other farmers argue that they have the right to do what is best for their animals’ safety when it comes to wolves.
